What inspired you into the art of tattooing?
All my life art itself has inspired me, ever since I can remember as a child my mother, brother, and I would all get together and take out sketch pads or canvases and just paint/draw for fun. She was the first artist I ever looked up to. Even as a grown woman I would also go with my mother to art events such as live murals @ “artisan”, first Friday, and “essex modern arts”. But all that changed when I lost her about 2yrs ago. So part of my story is that she always encouraged me to be brave and always follow what I wanted to do in life. Which is something that she never got to do herself. Was retired and become the artist that she longed to be. So through her I keep that dream alive and push to do as I’ve also longed for as well while I still had time. From being the kid that always got in trouble for doodling on my homework, to the kid who’s won art awards in high school, and now to the woman who moves that needle and brings artwork to life.
Tell us about your preferred style of work.
My preferred style of tattooing is traditional tattoos, neo-traditional, and pinups.
What inspires you as an artist?
What inspired me as an artist was growing up for the past 20 years getting tattooed, I always hung around tattoo shops and always knew that eventually I was going to become an artist myself. Eventually one of my lifelong artists became my mentor. Even when I was a kid, I used to be into art growing up w/my mother. Being an artist and tattooing, is a way of life. This lifestyle has taken me places. And I am honored to be an artist. I’m a very down-to-earth person who takes my work serious and also enjoys seeing the smile on my clients faces as they leave my chair feeling good about their skin.
Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist?
As an artist, being able to genuinely create art by putting something together myself and tattooing it on someone making them feel good is one thing that really inspires me. Meeting my client's satisfaction. Being able to tattoo someone and watch them walk away happy in their own skin or bringing out some type of confidence in them is an amazing feeling not only for them, but for me as well.
Anything else you'd like for prospective clients to know about you?
I am honored to be an artist. I’m a very down-to-earth person who takes my work serious and also enjoys seeing the smile on my clients faces as they leave my chair feeling good about their skin. I also feel that as an artist, I am partially a therapist. Because of this, my chair and ears are always open to my clients with no judgement. We are all human, and sometimes art has a deep meaning behind it.
