Ink Couture Tattoos Loop 410 at Evers Road is home base for JR.  Sought after for his anime and Japanese, he's equalled masterful at colorful pieces, black and grey and geometric making him the "go to" source for all your tattoo styles.

How long have you been tattooing professionally?
I’ve been tattooing professionally for 17 years, gaining experience in a wide variety of styles.  I first studied traditional, script and illustrative color.

What inspired you into the art of tattooing?
I was inspired to pursue a career in tattooing after encouragement from my family, friends, and coworkers.  My love for art began at an early -- at age three I drew my first picture: a red giraffe on the wall after a trip to the zoo, which I proudly named "Long Neck."

Tell us about your preferred style of work.
I am proficient in traditional, neo, traditional anime, watercolor, and currently studying black and grey portraits.  The challenge makes the tattoo fun and I love the way black heals.

What inspires you as an artist?
I have always loved drawing. I never made art to make tattoos, but it was a excellent segway.  If my iPad is down, I can still make a solid tattoo design and I have a whole color theory already planned out in my head.

Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist?
I have a long history of being art driven...I also genuinely enjoy when people can feel confident in the way they look with the work that's on them: to want to show it off is the goal.  Focusing on clean lines to start with helps that.

Anything else you'd like prospective clients to know about you?
I’m looking to do an Award Winning full body Anime or Traditional Body Suit to enter an upcoming tattoo expo.  I'm super inspired to win 1st Place.
