How long have you been tattooing professionally?
I started tattooing in Vietnam in 2019, then in Tokyo, Japan for a little less than a year before arriving to Austin in 2020.
What inspired you into the art of tattooing?
I was working as an engineer and I would draw on my free time. One of my coworkers was telling me I should be a tattoo artist, the next day he introduced me to his artist and I tried to do a tattoo on him. One year later I broke my leg during work hours and wanted to try something new. Artists always tries to challenge themselves. Working on skin is very different from the other medias and it can be challenging for new artists.
Tell us about your preferred style of work.
I love doing anime tattoos. I'm a geek at heart; I started drawing anime style illustrations since in 11 years old and have never stopped.
What other styles are you known for? Bold color tattoos, cover-ups, traditional, neo-traditional, and Japanese inspired tattoos are among the styles I'm known for.
What inspires you as an artist?
Making people happy. Challenging myself to new styles and getting out of my comfort zone doesn't scare me.
Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist?
I always give my best. I'm always thinking ways to improve. I'm pretty laid back and try to make first-timers feel at ease.
Anything else you'd like for prospective clients to know about you? I can speak 4 languages: English, French, Spanish and Japanese. My very first job was being a muralist, before becoming an engineer, then eventually a tattoo artist. 😊
