How long have you been tattooing professionally (in a licensed shop)?
I started tattooing in Feb 2023 and joined Ink Couture in Jan 2025, bringing with me over 20 years of experience as a classically trained fine artist specializing in hyperrealism painting. My foundation in fine art gives me a unique edge in tattooing, allowing me to translate intricate detail, depth, and realism directly onto skin. Clients often comment on the precision, polish, and artistry of my work, and I’m proud to provide tattoos that are both technically exceptional and deeply personal.

What inspired you into the art of tattooing?

I’ve always been passionate about creating art, and after years of painting and working in fine arts, tattooing felt like a natural extension of my life as an artist. It allowed me to bring my love for realism and detail to life in a way that’s both lasting and deeply personal. I was inspired not only by my own journey in fine art, but also by learning from masters in both the tattoo and traditional art worlds—artists who push boundaries and create innovative work. What drives me most is the opportunity to merge my fine art background with the personal stories of my clients, creating tattoos that are not only beautiful but also filled with meaning, pride, and permanence.

Tell us about the preferred style of your work.
My specialty is black and grey realism. My passion for realism stems from my background in fine arts, where I developed a deep appreciation for capturing intricate details. I’m highly detail-oriented and take great satisfaction in perfecting shadows and fine elements in my designs, creating pieces that are both precise and visually striking. I focus on depth, shading, and fine details that make tattoos feel alive and timeless. I love the versatility of black and grey—it works beautifully for florals, nature-inspired pieces, symbolic imagery, and custom designs. My goal is always to create tattoos that not only look striking on day one, but age well and remain a source of pride for years to come.

What other styles are you known for?
In addition to black and grey realism, I’m often sought out for my precision linework, microrealism, and tiny tattoos. These styles demand steady hands and a meticulous eye for detail, which is where my fine art background really shines. Many clients also choose me for color realism and vibrant color work, where I use the same techniques of depth and shadow to create bold yet refined tattoos. This range allows me to collaborate with clients across many different styles while always keeping the work clean, professional, and artistic. I find joy in working across different styles because it keeps my art fresh and exciting, and I love being able to collaborate with clients on unique, custom designs that suit their vision.

What inspires you as an artist?
As an artist, I’m constantly inspired by the fine arts and often bring my knowledge of other mediums into my tattoo practice. I also find a lot of inspiration in nature, and in my clients’ personal stories and the meaning behind their tattoos. Each tattoo is a deeply personal experience, and I love getting to know my clients on a more intimate level as we share our stories. This connection makes the entire process more meaningful, and it’s what keeps me passionate about tattooing.

Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist?
Clients choose me because I combine technical excellence with a fun, easygoing, and professional approach. I create a comfortable environment where clients feel heard and understood, and I treat every tattoo as a collaboration, aiming to bring my client's vision to life. My focus is on delivering work that is precise, meaningful, and tailored to the individual, while making the process enjoyable from start to finish. Whether it’s a large realism piece, a tiny detailed tattoo, or custom color work, I put my full heart and skill into every design. My clients leave not only with a tattoo they love, but with an experience they genuinely enjoy. I’ve also found that many clients specifically seek me out when looking to work with a Christian artist. For those clients, it adds an extra layer of trust and meaning to the process. At the same time, I deeply value working with people of all backgrounds and beliefs. What matters most to me is creating a welcoming, comfortable space where everyone feels respected and where their story can be turned into meaningful, lasting art.

Anything else you'd like for prospective clients to know about you?
Tattooing is more than a profession—it’s a lifelong passion rooted in decades of fine art training. I’m always learning and growing as an artist, constantly refining my skills across multiple mediums beyond tattooing. Whether it’s painting, drawing, or other forms of fine art, I bring that knowledge into my tattoo work, which helps me deliver more refined and detailed tattoos. I believe in creating tattoos that not only look amazing but also hold deep personal meaning, and I’m excited to work with anyone who wants to turn their ideas into lasting art. I welcome all clients and all types of ideas, and I strive to make every person feel comfortable, understood, and excited about their tattoo journey. Above all, I believe in creating lasting art that reflects both the vision of my clients and the skill of my craft.
